Mark Calicutt, owner of Calicutt Drilling, is a third generation water well driller based out of East Texas. His grandfather John Allen established Allen Water Wells in 1960 in Arp, TX. Mr. Allen pioneered the water well industry in East Texas. In 1969, after marrying Mr. Allen’s daughter, Mark’s father, Eddie Calicutt joined Allen Water Wells. Mr. Calicutt expanded Allen Water Wells from shallow tile wells to drilling deep wells all over the East Texas area.
Mr. Calicutt ran Allen Water Wells until 1991. After a short break from the industry Mr. Calicutt began drilling water wells again in 1999, and continued to do so until his retirement a few years ago. Mark Calicutt began his involvement with his father’s company in 1999, and worked alongside his dad until he left home to continue his education at Texas A&M University. After graduation, Mark came back home to Arp and continued to help his father drill wells. In 2006, Mark began working in the Oil and Gas industry while continuing to help with water wells on his days off. During his time in the Oil and Gas industry, Mark became a consultant and has drilled oil and gas wells offshore and on land both domestically and internationally.
